John Wilder Rispler

He's here! Born July 13th at 4:08, weighing 9lbs, 2oz. and stretching out to 21.25 inches long, John Wilder is here!

The first week and a half has been great. I feel almost recovered and am actually getting about five hours of sleep at night. Yah! So far, Baby John is a very happy baby, eating all the time and pooping all the time and sleeping in between. I had heard this is what newborns do, but never believed it after having Adelynne. This time around is so different and I find great meaning in John's name...God is Gracious. What a joy he's been. Both of our moms have been here to help, which also makes things go smoothly. There's nothing like having a mom help out after you have a baby! The birth went well. It was about 6 hours long after my water was broken. The staff at the hospital was amazing! We had such a great team: nurses, doctor, doula, and my mom and Nate. I never thought I would want so many people in the room, but they each had a role and were a great support. Thanks for all who prayed and sent words of encouragement those long days after my due date came and went.
On a whole different topic, but also good news: we sold our house today!

No Baby

It's fairly lame to make your first post in three months one that says nothing... but I know a lot of you might be wondering about Baby Boy Rispler. I'm four days over my due date and, yes, doubting if the baby will ever come out. My mom is down, thinking the baby would have been here by now. We have been doing lots of fun things instead of twiddling our thumbs, so that's been good for me. Soon there will be a post with an announcement. Till then....

And Adelynne

Just a shot of Adelynne from our sunny day today. It must have been in the 70s, but it felt like 85 to me. I'm not sure how I'll fair through the Medford summer. I better get the air conditioner fixed in my car. All that to say, I loved the sunshine and am glad for the time outside with Adelynne-- especially in our huge, lovely backyard.

Now the Outside

As you can see, the camera was on a timer and I partially made it for the picture. But here is the 27 week belly.

Ultrasound Results

You're going to have to turn your head to see them, but here are ultrasound pictures of Baby BOY Rispler! We're very excited. The doctor said everything looks good-- the baby looks healthy and is measuring correctly. He sure seems healthy as he's kicking me in the ribs as I type.

I know I'm gushing a bit, but here are some more pics and a couple of Adda

Some more house pics

This house was such a huge gift. We found it at the last minute. It was nicer, cleaner, cuter, bigger, and cheaper than anything else we had looked at. We couldn't have asked for anything better. It is on a dead-end street on the top of hill, with a view of the city lights and absolutely no traffic. The yard is maintained by the owners, who live next door-- and it's like our own park--beautiful grass and big trees for shade in the hot summers. The house is older (which I like) but also clean --new carpet!-- and has central heat and air conditioning. And it's huge--like over 1500 sq ft--which seems mansion-like to me and Nate. So we have plenty of room for guests. Come see us, friends! This gift of a house was truly a reminder that God is involved and concerned with his children--even when it comes to little things, like houses.
